And what better way to experience it than in your own home-on-wheels? Renting an RV from RV Rentals Way of Life for your Lake Hemet getaway offers unparalleled freedom and flexibility.
What does Lake Hemet Offer?
- Fishing
- Stocked Lake: Lake Hemet is well-known for its excellent fishing. It's regularly stocked with rainbow trout . Next restock will be in November of 2025
- Other Species: You can also catch largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish (channel and bullhead), and carp.
- Access: Fish from the extensive shoreline, or rent a boat to get out on the water. Night fishing from the shoreline is allowed for overnight campers until 10 PM.
- Licenses: A California State fishing license is required for anyone aged 16 or older. The Lake Hemet Market sells licenses and a variety of bait and tackle.
- Boating:
- Rentals: The Marina at Lake Hemet offers a selection of boats for rent, including pontoon boats (great for families), motorboats, rowboats, and kayaks (single and double). Advance reservations are often recommended for boats.
- Personal Watercraft: You can bring your own boat (minimum 10 ft length, 3 ft beam width). Be prepared for a Quagga Mussel inspection and a launch fee.
- Restrictions: Important to note: inflating watercraft, paddleboards, jet skis, and sailboats are generally NOT permitted. There's a 10 mph speed limit on the lake (5 mph in the marina), and no boating is allowed between sunset and sunrise.
- Water Activities:
- Designated Swim Zone: While direct water contact (swimming/wading) is generally restricted in the lake, Lake Hemet has a designated "Splashing Eagle Swim Zone" that is open seasonally. Unfortunately, it is closed this summer of 2025 due to Algae levels, however their Water Zone is currently open!
- Water Zone: Free of charge for all Lake Hemet guests, the Water Zone includes inflatable water slides, splash pads, water tables and squirt guns. This is a perfect way to cool down from the summer heat.
- Hiking & Cycling: The area surrounding Lake Hemet offers various hiking and cycling trails. Explore the scenic terrain and enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. Simpson Park, a nearby area, also has trails. When you're ready for a rest, gather inside your RV rental and unwind.
- Wildlife Viewing & Nature Exploration: The natural setting of Lake Hemet is home to abundant wildlife. Keep an eye out for majestic eagles, hawks, deer, and other birds and animals. It's a great spot for birdwatching, so bring your binoculars!
- On-Site Amenities:
- Lake Hemet Market: A convenient market is located at the entrance, selling camping and fishing supplies, snacks, drinks, firewood, and even fishing licenses.
- Soaring Pines Cafe: If you don't feel like cooking, grab a bite to eat at the cafe, offering house-made sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and more, often with outdoor seating and scenic views.
Lake Hemet provides a refreshing escape into nature with plenty of activities to keep you busy, whether you're looking for an active adventure or a relaxing break by the water.
